Promise Me a Miracle

I would like to introduce you to Promise short for Promise Me a Miracle.  Promises’ journey to the earth has been a very long and involved tale full of grief, trauma and absolute joy.

The following is Allyson’s account of how Promise came to be.

Hi Cathy

Please forgive the lapse of time since I said I would send a precis of Cosi’s story and the amazing result of years of persistence……  It has been of course a hectic time and lots going on, not to mention the way time flies when you find yourself sitting in a paddock watching a foal play. I swear sometimes Ive been there for days on end at a time….  !!!

The beginning of my journey with Cosi started the day I rescued her, many many years ago now, and found that the two horses we had to take her away from were her own filly and colt, two horses she had never been parted from in their lives.  The separation was due to her being shot through the neck and left to die in the bush, so of course not negotiable that we get her out of there for treatment.  Her agony at that parting made me promise to her that day, in the back yard of a friend who had room for a horse, that I would one day give her a foal she would not have to part with, ever.
What a can of worms I opened!!!!!!  From Central Australia to Queensland and back to WA we have travelled. During that time I started with normal breeding methods, then when they didn’t work we investigated reasons why and went a little left of centre in order to bring that foal into existence…  Until I was told by very highly qualified equine breeding specialists that the scarring in her uterus was beyond repair, and she would never ever have the foal I had promised her.
Still, an animal psychic friend in the States told me that she dreamed of Cosi with her OWN foal, and so I had a little voice in my mind saying “don’t give up”…
We tried everything… Herbs and red light therapy and massage and everything in between….  Prayers and rain dances and speaking out loud to Epona… Years passed….

Then we found YOU.

I don’t remember how long ago it was Cathy that I first told you of her plight, perhaps it was Monti (Allyson’s German Shepherd) I first contacted you about. I still have Cosi’s Healing Plan in all its complicated glory – perhaps I should frame it!!!!!!  I followed those instructions to the letter, after reading about homeopathy which at that time I knew absolutely nothing about. (Not that much has changed LOL)…..

December 2010, my beautiful girl slipped a foal, 7 months in utero, a beautiful black colt with a big white blaze just like his daddy….  but Phoenix, as I named him, was here for  a very special reason. He made Cosi ready for the next stage of what you made possible, by ensuring the previously inhospitable uterine wall, resembling leather in the past, was now ready, waiting, warm and soft.
12 months is a long time when you are focussed on every single change in a mare’s body and mind…  I almost went out of my own mind in the last few months as the time of Phoenix’s early birth came and went, but this little foal stayed put.  The vets had a guesstimate of mid November, so once again I started going grey, and the Moet remained in the fridge untouched.

Thursday December 23rd at 3.45am, after a dose of accident remedy to stave off any excessive labour pain, my beautiful Cosi finally realised the promise I had made to her 8 years ago, and Promise came into this world, amidst a still summer’s evening, hardly a whisper from her mother, but lots of tears from me.  I managed to come back to earth long enough to administer her remedy 13, retained placenta, just in case, but everything seemed perfect.

Her full name is “Promise Me A Miracle” and whilst she is still changing, it looks like she will be a Golden Buckskin… just what I had prayed for from a palomino mother and black as the ace of spades father.  She is everything I ever dreamed of, and more, but nothing will ever surpass the sheer love and joy I felt when I saw Cosi nurture that foal for the first time.  Cosi is the centre of my universe, no doubt about that, and without your help with her specific healing plan and continued backup, none of this would have happened.

Cathy, is it any wonder that I tell everyone about you, everyone who needs help, be it for themselves, or their beloved animals. Anyone who needs a miracle, when they have run out of hope.  You have helped create a miracle, in a little paddock in Mundijong WA, that has helped heal the hearts of a beautiful mare and her eternally grateful and blissfully happy owner.  I can never, ever, thank you enough from the bottom of my heart.  Love Allyson

Treatment of Ringworm on Horses

Rachel who’s horse Travolta we had treated for sarcoids was exposed to Ringworm at a polocrosse carnival.  Here is the case study of this event.

On 14th June we got this message from Rachel:

Just a quick question re RINGWORM? Poor Travolta caught it from last polox outing i’m assuming cause he’s not been anywhere else! I’ll have to wash him in imaverol today as it has really spread.. Horrible stuff :(

It spread so badly over the past 3 days I am desperate to help him ASAP. The ringworms have spread thickly from his shoulder up his neck and down to knee. Many many lesions. raised bumps that are eventually losing hair in the centre. Now some on his flank. i am just worried that if i leave it any longer he will be covered in them.

I didn’t really want to use chemical but I must admit, the ‘old ways’ mentality snuck back in when i saw the ringworms pop up everywhere, just wanted them gone!! :)

I wish I had have contacted you earlier about this but I suppose I thought it would go away…. not so lucky!!! Fingers crossed he gets his act together and starts healing :) Don’t like seeing the ugly lesions on his not-so-long-ago ‘gleaming’ coat!!

This all happened at a very tricky time for us because we were moving house and the above emails came in during the day the removalists arrived.  We stayed up late that night to do a review with half our healing stuff unpacked and posted off a plan with remedies for Travolta the following day.

Here is an update from Rachel on 5th July – 21 days later:

Trav’s ring worms have mostly cleared up however there looks like there may be a few newish ones in places. I had to clip him over the weekend as I had to start working him again this week so I got a better look of his coat. I’m hoping he doesnt get another spread of them again.

Then on 25th July:

I’ve sent a few pics for you of Trav’s ringworm, this was taken about 2 weeks ago so now the hair has grown back where the lesions were. There are two scabby circles on his shoulder and rump that could be the last of it. So all good I think :)

These are the photos of Travolta that Rachel took after the ringworm had cleared and started to heal.  Unfortunately there are no photos of Travolta during the healing crisis.

When bacterias are caught while away from home like this, we can quickly identify the problem and any other health issue caused by the bacteria and provide remedies very quickly to release the health crisis.

Rachel has continued on with Travolta’s healing plans.  He is a horse that plays hard for his owner and will cope much better and for longer with polocrosse because of constantly keeping his health – both emotional and physical in hand.

Treatment for sarcoids in horses

Here is a case study about Travolta.  A polocrosse horse with the Gold Coast polocrosse team.

Travolta’s owner Rachel sent us this email on 7 March 2011:

I was just now wondering if you might have any suggestions for my 5yr old gelding that has had a history of melanomas from a young age. When he was 3 he had a ‘mango’ sized melanoma removed from his stifle area (vets had never seen such a lesion in a horse so young). He had an examination last Friday (4/3/11) and the vet was happy with the surgery site however there are some small lumps visible on other areas of his body which the vet thinks are probably melanomas and sarcoids. He suggests leaving them unless they have a sudden change in size.

We found a number of things going on with Travolta, not just the sarcoids.  There were old injuries that needed healing as well as surgery issues that needed clearing.  It was decided to run a series of Personalised Healing plans on Travolta to really get him well and ready for competition.  Here is what Rachel said after 14 days on the plan:

It is day 14 of Travolta’s healing plan today and all seems to be going well :) I’ve finished the course of the eye tonic now. His eyes look better than ever atm! Clear and gorgeous (love horse eyes lol).

We continued on after the first plan with a second and here is what Rachel emailed us after he started his second plan:

Travolta is into his second healing plan and looks great. His coat is glowing and just seems to have the most amazing temperament these days. Quiet, willing and a pleasure to have around.

One of the sarcoid areas is completely covered in hair now and the lumps under the skin have decreased in size. The two wart like ones have definitely decreased in size also and are starting to get crusty and the hair is growing in the circle around them. I think a huge improvement. I haven’t noticed any new lesions lately and that is a wonderful feeling as before I contacted you I was finding new ones every few days. In summary any that were already there have improved and no new ones have appeared!! This is the best outcome I could have ever wished for.

Two weeks after this photo was taken Rachel emailed me about a bad case of Ringworm that was running riot throughout the polocrosse competitions and Travolta had come down with the bacteria.  To read how this all unfolded click here.

Anxiety in Horses

This Case study and following testimonial relate to a mare that had 4 months earlier lost twin foals due to complications.

Her owner emailed this email on 28 January 2011

Meg is a 14yo 16.1hh stunning Appaloosa that I have owned for 6 years.  I had shown her for several years and 9 times out of 10 she’d bring the blue ribbon & a purple sash home, I haven’t shown her now for about 2 years.
She has had 2 stunning foals and last year she was to have her 3rd but in early September she slipped twins with only 9 weeks to go.  One was a fully formed buckskin colt with an appy blanket & the 2nd was mummified at approx 5.5 months into the pregnancy.  We didn’t know she was having twins as it didn’t show on the scan but at around 5.5 months she bagged right up and started dripping milk (which she did for 4 days), the vet gave me an injection to give to her to stop her from foaling plus an oral antibiotic powder to be given to her in her daily feed & she was to be given Regumate daily until 2 weeks before her due date.  When she slipped the twins she went into what I would call a state of depression.
The season after what was her foaling season we tried to put her onto the float but she totally & utterly refused & locked her legs, there was no way she was going to get on that float.  We even tried 2 friends floats but no way was she getting on them either.  This happened for the next 2 seasons, so needless to say she in not in foal now – you probably think I’m silly but I reckon she just didn’t want to leave her babies (which are buried near her paddock & she watched me at the time).
This is a mare that would self load and was used to teach youngsters about float loading & travel with them to comfort them & who was regularly taken to shows either on her own in the float or with another horse.
Also now she can’t stand the farrier putting shoes on her & she tries every trick in the book to avoid it, pulls back etc & she even sometimes rears, we generally have to twitch her (lucky he’s a patient man & really likes the mare).
We tried loading her on a float again 2 weeks ago but she still absolutely totally refuses to get on.  She even lets our 7yo appy gelding boss her around and chase her :(
All of this out of character behaviour has only happened in the last 5 months since loosing the twins.
Apart from the issues above she’s fine to do anything with, even go out for a trail ride on her own or in company.
So would recommend your ‘Stress Relief’ for her or something else ??

sue-sharpe-megs

We recommended the Grief remedy as we have seen similar depression and anxiousness in other mares that have miscarried or lost foals.  On 9 February, 12 days later Meg’s owner sent the following email:

Well I have been totally & utterly amazed in the change of my 14yo Appaloosa mare who lost twins last September, she no longer is depressed & is once again waiting at the gate for her feeds & whinnying out to me whenever she sees me…….Your ‘Grief Remedy’ has been a miracle & I still can’t get over that I only had to give her one dose.  Next week I will see if she’s more willing to get back on a float and leave her twins grave, I truly believe she will :-) )))))))))))))

Obviously Meg’s owner is over the moon that one dose of one remedy can achieve such an amazing healing results.  We see this all the time.  The power of energy remedies has been undervalued for so long.  Now is the time to start healing yourself and your animals naturally.  The wonderful side effect of this is that energy remedies are very cost effective and we can all use some of that in our lives.

Natural Solutions for Allergies and Itchy Skin for Horses

As horse owners we are constantly being bombarded with all sorts of different medications/chemicals for our horses to heal them or maintain their good health. When it comes to allergies and dream-photoitching in our horses the chemical solutions are very toxic and in most cases don’t provide a long term solution. The biggest problem is how we view allergies and itch.  As a society we have been trained to believe that itches, rashes and allergic reactions are bad and need to be made go away quickly. In fact the allergic symptoms and the itch are signs of dis-ease in the body. To lift the external symptoms we need to heal internal unbalance.

With Allergies we usually find that the body is overloaded with toxins and then any extra load such as mosquito bites, extra chemicals, seasonal grasses, just tip them over and they result in allergy symptoms. It is not that the horse is allergic that insect, chemical or grass.

Itchy skin in horses, eg. QLD Itch is most often toxins releasing through the skin. The toxins are usually acid causing the skin to itch, the horse scratches creating damaged skin, mites may come and live in the skin and whether they do or not chemical is bought to treat the skin/mites which means more toxins, creating a vicious cycle which is hard to break.

The release through the skin is a natural healing process for the body, much better than storing the toxins in the organs which will cause great internal damage.

Let’s face it, our world is toxic and even if you don’t treat your horses with chemicals, there are still toxins all around us – in the feed, the air, in the runoff from the neighbours paddock, etc.

Detoxing is the first step in clearing up your horses allergies, then a natural product to lift out the mites and heal the skin. Homeopathy can offer a quick natural solution to get your horses allergies under control.

The most suitable of the Heal with Ease kits for this purpose is our Itchy Pet Kit.

Relief for horses with Qld Itch

Lois K, lives at Caboolture in Qld.  The climate can be quite warm and from time to time it can be very wet.  Lois first contacted us mid-June 2009 to order an Itchy Pet Kit for her horse that was itching badly.

Mid July, Lois emailed us with the following:magic

Hi again Cathy and Eric, Just wanted to let you know that we are up to day 9 of the treatment, so Magic will have a couple of days off before the last remedy. In the 7 days of detox, he has already shown less of a need to scratch. Also I think there were traces of worms in his faeces, which is interesting, because he was wormed with … on 6th of June.  Also he seems to have improved in temperament. Normally he’s quite a highly strung horse, very nervy to ride out and often forgets his manners on the ground. So I’m looking forward to starting work with him again.

Regards………….Lois K.

On 27th of July this email from Lois:

Hi Cathy, Just an update to let you know that Magic is doing really well after the completion of the itch remedy course. I have spent countless dollars on external applications, which required me to be constantly washing him, or rubbing something in which only made his rugs dirtier, and in the end he just seemed to get worse. After being washed and plied with soothing lotions, he’d rush off to the nearest tree/post/chook pen and attack his itch with great enthusiasm, much to my dismay. Now he’s much calmer and I just don’t see and scratching going on at all.  I am so impressed!

Regards…………Lois K.

On the 3rd August Lois approved us putting Magic’s details on our website with:

You are welcome to use my email on your website. I have taken some photos, but they are from last Friday and I don’t have anything to show what it was like before. However you can see the bits of hair missing where it has to grow back yet. I took all his rugs off last Friday as it was such a hot day and was amazed by the shine on his coat. You can see that in one of the shots.

Regards Lois K.

Homeopathic Bone Knit Remedy

The main action of this remedy is to promote effective healing of fractures.  It should be used in all such cases (along with the shock remedy – with is one of the three remedies in the Heal with Ease Accident remedy in the Beginners Kit) to ensure a complete healing resolution.  It is effective in combating the effects of peri orbital and eye injury (sclera) too.  If you have no Arnica in your first aid kit, the Bone Knit remedy can assume this position for all injuries.

Also consider this remedy for injuries to cartilages, periosteum with excessive pain.  Painful old injuries.  Pricking, stitching pains remaining after wound is healed.  Irritable stump after operation.  Non-union of fracture.  Penetrating wounds of perineum.  Affects of the joints, arthralgia of knee.  Sarcomatous tumor.

Although Heal with Ease is predominately an animal website, all remedies are suitable for consumption by humans.

Purchase your Bone Knit Remedy Today.  We also recommend purchasing the Accident remedy or the full Beginners Kit to support the Bone Knit remedy.

Testimonial received by one of our clients after using the Bone Knit remedy:
Hi Cathy,
We have had great success with the bone knit. My 96 year old grandmother had a line fracture in the ball of her femur (where it meets the pelvis), which is very serious in older people, causing her a lot of pain. It wasn’t healing at all and doctors were afraid they would have to operate – again very risky at her age. I administered one dose of the boneknit, confident that as a line fracture that there wasn’t the risk of bones fusing incorrectly. Anyway several weeks, maybe a month, later she had the x-ray again and it’s all healed. I put it down to the boneknit because it hadn’t healed at all over many many months, until the remedy was administered.
I’d used comfrey tincture as a bone-knit with her in the past: when she broke her arm very badly (jogging in her 80s!). Her arm healed in 3 weeks – the doctor was shocked, saying in normal people it would take 6 – he put it down to his good work! But comfrey internally is meant to be toxic (it’s banned in Victoria as an internal remedy), so it’s great to be able to use the homeopathic which carries no such risks.
Thanks again Cathy, I am deeply appreciative. I love my grandmother so much and an operation at this stage would have been deadly – her last visit to hospital, for a few days of tests only, was catastrophic. So I really feel like I have you to thank that she is with us for a while yet, hopefully a long while.
Very bests,
Michelle

Retained placenta in horses

The most obvious sign of a retained placenta is the appearance of a variable portion of the placenta protruding from the vulval opening. Less commonly no placenta may be visible. This either meanstara1 that no part of the placenta has been passed or, more likely, portion of the placenta remains attached. The placenta should initially be tied up in order to prevent touching the hocks. As uterine contraction plays an important role in the release of the fetal membranes it is ideal that the foal feed shortly after birth to stimulate further uterine contractions.

Unless you are there it is hard to tell if the placenta has been released.  The mare will of course consume the placenta in the process of cleaning up the foal.  If you have your Retained Placenta remedy on hand then give it to the mare anyway.  It won’t do any harm and at the very least will assist with the retraction of the uterus and bringing in the milk.  However if the placenta is still inside and you just don’t know it will be a vital step in saving your mare.

As a matter of course we always treat the mares with the Retained Placenta remedy as soon as possible after birth.  This remedy stimulates the contractions to help with the expulsion of any remaining placenta.  The remedy also aids the uterus in its efforts to return to usually shape and will also help the mare bring good milk over the following week.

The Retained Placenta remedy is part of the Heal with Ease Breeders Kit.  We always recommend that Breeders of all animals have the three basic kits – Beginners, Extension and Breeders, thereby giving them a range of remedies to deal with most issues that arise in their animals.

You can also purchase your Retained Placenta remedy here for $50 for a 50ml bottle, plus $5 postage.
