Stopping the lambs from dying

I wanted to share with you my experience with one of our farming clients, Scott Macansh who owns Deepwater Station in Deepwater, NSW.

It was in March 2011 that I received a call from Scott. After introductions, I asked him what I could do to help him. His answer, “I need you to stop my lambs from dying”. OKAY! This out of the blue. Could we do it?? What was wrong with his lambs?? Scott is a young, proactive farmer who was working with every expert available and he called us, out of sheer desperation to save his livelihood. At this point Scott had lost 500 lambs.

So, I got him to email me a photo of his sheep. Not the whole flock, just a good sample that were unwell. It took me 10 mins to determine the bacteria that was killing these lambs. It was Heliobacter. This bacteria breaks down the lining of the stomach. I quickly got back to Scott who was quite amazed that I could pick this up so fast.

The following morning Scott made the 6 hour round trip to pick up the energy version of the heliobacter bacteria. His words as he walked out our door, and I will never forget them were, “Even if I don’t believe in these remedies, will they still work”. We smiled at him and said ‘yes’.

He returned home and drenched the remedy into half of his lambs. He lost one or two that were very weak on the way through the yards but the rest immediately started to bounce. The balance were done the following day and the deaths stopped. Just like that.

The next step was to heal the internal damage caused by the bacteria and most importantly find out where the bacteria came from and see if we could stop it. A healing plan was created for Scott to run through the trough water for these lambs and a farm visit attended by Eric 5 days later.

What Eric found when he got there was a settling pond that fed from the town waste water. During the recent floods in January the settling pond had flooded over the paddocks around it and this is where the stock were picking up the bacteria. We found many other bacterias and chemicals in the settling pond when we tested it. Not tested as in standard water testing but muscle tested, like we did with the sheep.

All Scotts’ sheep healed beautifully. We worked on the ewes, the cattle and even the rams to bring them up to a better level of health. This has been ongoing as we work through the layers of current and inherited (cellular stored) issues but with every step his stock are looking better.

In September when the lambs above were shorn, their wool was white and bright and had grown perfectly since the lambs were healed. His ewes which we also treated, had bright, white wool with not imperfections – no dermatitis or any of the older existing issues.

In farming sometimes you get as many losses in a wet season as you do in a dry season. Scotts’ new lambs (September/October 2011), were nice and small, no lambing problems. Considering the good feed season Scott was expecting many birthing problems due to oversized lambs. In the area, there was a lot of loss of cattle with bloat and bloat related issues, but Scott had none of these problems. Scott has a Farmers Pack and has been trained in muscle testing to assist with remedy choices to improve the day to day running of his farm.

In July, we proposed to run healing plans on Scotts’ paddocks as a trial. He did the soil tests and we provided the remedies. The changes in the soil structure were quite remarkable after just two treatments (same remedies), so we are continuing on with our trials in this area and will update this post when we know more.

Using HWE products for footrot and three day sickness in cattle

I started writing this last night as I really wanted to give you some feed back on all the good things that have been happening.

We have had an interesting time of late. As you know several of the new cattle we purchased from NSW came down with foot rot after weeks and weeks (months) of rain. We treated the first three with antibiotics and they recovered in one day or two. But once the Heal with Ease remedies arrived I started treating the cattle with the drops instead. Any cattle showing any signs of limping I treated with the Abscess treatment for two days (morning and afternoon – a couple of drops on the nose) and then Travel Sickness remedy for two days (in the morning only – a couple of drops on the nose). They have all recovered well in two to three days. The younger heifers responded very quickly.

The cattle are much happier to get a back scratch and a couple of drops on their nose in the paddock. It is much easier – on them and us. Especially compared to rounding them up, forcing them through the crush and then giving them a rather heavy needle in either side of their rump. Giving them drops is ‘a walk in the park’ (or should I say paddock!).

Three days ago we had a cow showing definite signs of Three Day Sickness. I put two drops of the Fever remedy on her nose when she was laying down in a gully (struggling to get up). Then I left her overnight with a basin of water with three drops in it. The next morning the basin was empty, the cow was out of the gully and munching away up the hill with the rest of the herd! I couldn’t believe my eyes. What a relief. This was one of the cows that had to deal with sore feet only weeks earlier (she got the needle poor thing).

So thank you very much for such wonderful products. Heal with Ease is a much friendlier, healthier and less expensive way of dealing with what were ongoing problems. It really has taken a lot of the worry out of it for us.

Treating Buffalo Fly in Cattle and Horses

What affect Buffalo Fly has on the animal

Buffalo fly irritate cattle, interrupting feeding and causing sores especially when infestations are high. Trials in the wet tropics have shown that buffalo fly can reduce beef cattle production by up to 16%. A small parasitic worm (Stephanofilaria spp.) is associated with buffalo fly bites and causes skin lesions. Sores from buffalo fly infestations result in permanent hide damage therefore decreasing the value of the hide. These lesions may also restrict access of stock to the live export trade.

Dark coated cattle, bulls, older cattle and those in poor condition usually attract the heaviest infestations of fly. Bos indicus cattle seem to carry high numbers but do not appear to be as severely affected as other breeds.

How Homeopathy is a natural safe solution?

The DPI states that animals “in poor condition” will attract the most buffalo fly.  We find that cows in calf or lactating to feed their babies will often be a candidate for buffalo flies.  We talk here of cattle however the same is true for horses.  In fact the same is true for all animals when it comes to parasite control.  A strong healthy animal is not a good home for parasites – fleas, ticks, flies, mosquitoes will naturally go to the weaker animals in an area.

Symptoms of Pink eye in stock animals

The infection begins when the invading organisms cause swelling and redness to the eyelid lining (conjunctiva) and surrounding tissues of one or both eyes. The eye is very sensitive to light and may have an excessive amount of tearing. These animals can have an increased temperature and often go off feed due to the pain associated with the infection. With time (2-6 days), the eye becomes cloudy and an ulcer may develop.

Improve fertility in stock animals

For many years now we have been helping many people – farmers, dog and cat breeders and even women increase the fertility in their animals and themselves to allow a happy, healthy pregnancy and birth to follow.

In women it is often seen that complicated births can affect further pregnancies.  The same is true of our domestic animals – dogs, cats, cows, horses, you name it, if a problem or slightly imperfect jorja-and-her-pupsbirth is experienced by the female then it can be hard to successfully mate them again.

Ideally breeders would have remedies at the birth to assist with shock, afterbirth, mastitis, bonding and like issues.  Remedies to help the milk drop properly for the babies, allow them to suckle properly and help mum’s uterus to cleanse and return to proper shape.  However using the homeopathic remedies, even if everything wasn’t perfect last time, we can usually assist in cleansing the uterus and reproductive system, allowing for further pregnancies without complication.

Examples of how we have used these remedies:

A few years ago two dog trialling associates of ours both had bitches that hadn’t cycled for many years.  They had just given up on them ever breeding again.  They couldn’t tell us if their last litters were difficult in any way.  We treated both bitches with the fertility remedy, six weeks to the day they both cycled for the first time in years and nine weeks later two litters were on the ground.

This story is so common to us that it seems an everyday thing, but we know that if you are waiting for a special breeder or relying on your flock or mob to get good conception/birthing rates then this is a big deal.

Reproductive problems with animals

As animal caretakers – dogs, sheep, cattle, alpacas and chickens we often see the reproductive cycle of our animals out of wack.

Before we started with homeopathics we really had no solution to these problems.  We would have bitches that had troubles with birthing and not cycle again and chickens that stopped laying.  Cattle that failed to be in calf when they should have been.r-smartie-in-full-coat

About eight years ago we discovered a homeopathic remedy that releases blockages related to the reproductive part of the body of an animal and allows them to cycle properly.  Our experience is that within six weeks of being given the remedy they will cycle.

Please note here that they won’t come into season to order, this remedy works only to reestablish a reproduction cycle that is out of balance.

Six weeks ago we treated two of our Border Collie bitches and our chickens with this remedy that is in our Breeders Kit.  One of the bitches is 11 years old and we wanted a last litter from her and she had failed to come into season properly in the last ten months.  The other is a bitch that had had a large litter last time she was joined and consequently had failed to cycle again.  The chooks had stopped laying properly over several months.

Dog going blind due to accident

A working dog was brought to us because it had lost its sight.  The owner related it to a minor head injury from a kick from a steer about a year previously.  He claimed that the vision had gradually been going ever since that event so that now the dogs usefulness as a working dog was finished at the age of two years.

Specialist testing revealed nothing.  Due to the owners recollection of the event and relating to the gradual blindness we gave the dog the Accident remedy for 3 days.  One month later the dog was back in work and suffering no relapse.  In hindsight it is suspected that the injury was causing pressure on the optic nerves.

It is important when looking at an animals current situation to consider previous events – injuries, trauma and emotional upsets.

Homeopathy is amazing in that it can heal very old injuries and bring forth complete healings today.

Natural treatment for buffalo flies on horses and cattle

Here at Heal at Ease we are farmers as well as dog breeders.  We are constantly using our remedies to treat problems that arise with our horses and cattle.

One problem we found when we moved to south-east Queensland is Buffalo Fly.  The chemicals they use to keep them off are horrific.  When faced with this problem, we had to find a homeopathic solution.  We usually do.  What we ended up doing was to bring all the cattle into the yards on one water trough and drop the Bites and Stings remedy from the Beginners Kit in the water of the trough.

We left the cattle in there for the day and at the end of the day the fly had left the animals.  Three weeks later they were just starting to return so we repeated the treatment.  It is safe, easy and great for organic farmers as there is no poison, chemical or anything like that.

Natural healing for kennel cough

If you are worried about kennel cough in your dogs, then really you should be. Even if your dog has been vaccinated against kennel cough you should be aware that there is a new strain of kennel cough that the existing vaccine doesn’t work on.

Information on kennel cough:

It is an upper respiratory tract infection but can rarely affect the lungs.  It gains its name from the fact that it is able to spread most easily in boarding kennels where dogs are grouped together, so its most often seen after the summer holiday when a dog returns from boarding.  It is usually not a serious disease but can be very troublesome and annoying both, to dog and human companions, since the noise of the cough is very harsh and repeated frequently, the symptoms often lasting up to three weeks even with anitbiotics. 

Correct homeopathic prescribing will usually result in cessation of the cough within three days.
