Mastitis in Dogs

Mastitis mainly occurs shortly after birth as the milk ‘comes in’ and also at time of weaning when one or more glands become swollen, hot and tender to the touch. The milk jorja-and-her-pupsbecomes curdled and yellow after a while and in neglected cases discolouration of the mammary region occurs. The bitch is obviously in pain and discomfort and has an anxious expression.

As breeders of dogs and farmers we have seen mastitis occur in all range of animals. We recommend for Breeders that they have the three Heal with Ease kits on hand to deal with the range of issues that can come up during and after birth and for treatment of lactating mum and puppies issues.

Treating Buffalo Fly in Cattle and Horses

What affect Buffalo Fly has on the animal

Buffalo fly irritate cattle, interrupting feeding and causing sores especially when infestations are high. Trials in the wet tropics have shown that buffalo fly can reduce beef cattle production by up to 16%. A small parasitic worm (Stephanofilaria spp.) is associated with buffalo fly bites and causes skin lesions. Sores from buffalo fly infestations result in permanent hide damage therefore decreasing the value of the hide. These lesions may also restrict access of stock to the live export trade.

Dark coated cattle, bulls, older cattle and those in poor condition usually attract the heaviest infestations of fly. Bos indicus cattle seem to carry high numbers but do not appear to be as severely affected as other breeds.

How Homeopathy is a natural safe solution?

The DPI states that animals “in poor condition” will attract the most buffalo fly.  We find that cows in calf or lactating to feed their babies will often be a candidate for buffalo flies.  We talk here of cattle however the same is true for horses.  In fact the same is true for all animals when it comes to parasite control.  A strong healthy animal is not a good home for parasites – fleas, ticks, flies, mosquitoes will naturally go to the weaker animals in an area.

My horses have been annoyed by buffalo fly during the day and mosquitos and midges at night. Early in the morning and early in the evening were the worst times with the normhorses all agitated, tails swishing, kicking out and running about.

Symptoms of Pink eye in stock animals

The infection begins when the invading organisms cause swelling and redness to the eyelid lining (conjunctiva) and surrounding tissues of one or both eyes. The eye is very sensitive to light and may have an excessive amount of tearing. These animals can have an increased temperature and often go off feed due to the pain associated with the infection. With time (2-6 days), the eye becomes cloudy and an ulcer may develop.

At the first signs of pink eye, even in the conjunctivitis stage stock animals can be treated with the Heal with Ease Abscess remedy.  The earlier it is treated the quicker the results, however full healing has been achieved in cattle that have had pink eye for several months.

Dog Boils / Abscesses in Dogs

First you may notice a soft swelling from under the skin.  It may be painful, although many times there is little or no pain.  When a dog has an abscess it can cause generalised illness and in most cases can be handled at home using specific homeopathic medicine.eric-chief

An abscess occurs when an infection develops in a part of the body that is capable of opening into a pocket, usually as a result of a puncture wound of some sort.  Bites, scratches and foreign objects under the skin – splinters, grass seeds, piece of glass, etc.  These pockets fill with pus, which is an accumlation of dead bacteria and dead inflammatory cells that have moved into the area to attempt to eliminate the bacteria/foreign object.  The body attempts to isolate the problem to avoid causing damage to the rest of the body.  A great technique the body has to manage infection.

Improve fertility in stock animals

For many years now we have been helping many people – farmers, dog and cat breeders and even women increase the fertility in their animals and themselves to allow a happy, healthy pregnancy and birth to follow.

In women it is often seen that complicated births can affect further pregnancies.  The same is true of our domestic animals – dogs, cats, cows, horses, you name it, if a problem or slightly imperfect jorja-and-her-pupsbirth is experienced by the female then it can be hard to successfully mate them again.

Ideally breeders would have remedies at the birth to assist with shock, afterbirth, mastitis, bonding and like issues.  Remedies to help the milk drop properly for the babies, allow them to suckle properly and help mum’s uterus to cleanse and return to proper shape.  However using the homeopathic remedies, even if everything wasn’t perfect last time, we can usually assist in cleansing the uterus and reproductive system, allowing for further pregnancies without complication.

Mastitis in Dogs

Mastitis is the engorgement of the mammary glands (breasts, teats, etc) and can happen immediately after the birth of the baby/ies and also at time of weaning.

There are many homeopathic remedies that will help with the pain and discomfort of mastitis and reduce the engorgement in a very short time.  The fever remedy in our Beginners Kit is a good remedy, however in our Breeders Kit we have specifically the best homeopathic remedy for Mastitis.

Flea Problems

Giving Fleas the flick naturally

I have been working with homeopathic medicines on animals for 10 years and there are a few things that have become very clear to me in that time. Firstly is that a strong, healthy animal cannot play host to parasites – worms, fleas, ticks, etc. The second and probably the most interesting is that most animals in today’s society are toxic.

From vaccinations to medications to pollution and pesticides our animals are being exposed to poisons at every turn. It is no surprise that we are seeing a rise in disease (meaning that the body is at dis – ease, not balanced), presenting it’s self in the form of severe itch, serious illness and general ill health.

We are told that our itchy pet is allergic to fleas so we put more chemicals on it, tipping the animal over the edge further. In the process of doing this we are not only giving our dog more toxins, but ourselves and our families as well.

The problem has been that we need the fleas to go for our pets and for our families. But there is no point “burning down the house to get rid of the ants” as it were. There has to be a better answer.

This has been my quest for the past few years. My clients ask me what we can do homeopathically to ‘get rid of fleas’. Homeopathy doesn’t work like that so I had to restructure my thinking from what can we do to ‘get rid of fleas’ to what can we do to build up the system of the body to make it ‘naturally repel fleas’. I have always known that a healthy, strong body cannot host fleas and this was my starting point.

In my business, I assist my clients to firstly detox the poisons out of their animals and then provide them with a tonic that they can use daily in the first instance to really build the immune system and then drop treatment back to weekly.

The results have been amazing. Not only have the fleas packed up and moved off – probably to a less healthy animal, but also problems like arthritis pain, skin health and energy levels have been improved dramatically.

Itchy Skin on your pet

You are not alone.  This is the number one reason people come to us for help.  We have been dog owners, trialers and breeders since 1991 and it was only when we commenced healing animals for the public did we find out about itch problems and it is epidemic.

Natural Treatment Greasy Heel Remedies

Sue first contacted us in March 2009 with the following email:

I am keen to find out about your natural remedies and in particular I saw the case study on “look at me now”. I am grappling with something similar on the 4 white feet of my horse and after many products and vet bills am still not winning ( some 10 weeks later).
